1. General information
The subject and its expected results respond to the following approaches and objectives:
The subject must promote a well-founded reflection on artistic production, from Modernity to the present day, making use of the elements of analysis present in the aesthetic discourse.
Through the analysis of texts and dialogue in the classroom, while the students foster their own creativity through autonomous learning, they should be able to achieve a basic knowledge of the problems addressed in the philosophical and aesthetic debates, handling the relevant concepts and correctly expressing the knowledge acquired orally and in writing.
Likewise, students must understand texts of medium philosophical difficulty in which reflections and inquiries on the fundamental aesthetic problems are presented; get used to analyse various sources of information and handle them with ease; work and research from key documents specific to the philosophy of art developing their analytical skills with respect to the theories, authors and works analysed.
Finally, it is necessary that students know how to use the bibliography provided by the teacher, search for relevant bibliography on the problems addressed and extract the fundamental information that the bibliographic sources provide in each case.
These goals are aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations 20/30 agenda, so that the acquisition of the learning results of this subject will provide training and competencies for their achievement.
